PureAir Filtration developed disposable modules to provide customers with a quick and clean method to change out the media in their air purification systems. PureAir also provides multiple adsorbent media filters and canisters to ensure the removal of contaminants in industrial and commercial environments.
PurePak Modules (PP12 & PP18):
These disposable cartridges were developed to provide customers with a method to quickly and cleanly change the media in particular air purification systems, specifically the PureAir Side Access Housing unit. It can be filled with any PureAir chemisorbant media. The PP12 dimensions are 12″ x 24″ x 12″ while the PP18 measures 6″ x 24″ x 18″. Cartridges are only sold in pairs.

LOCATION: Los Angeles, California
EQUIPMENT/MEDIA USED: PurePak Modules (PP12) and Sulphasorb XL™
PROBLEM: The City of Los Angeles was deep tunneling for the Westside Subway Extension Project, which is near the La Brea Tar pits, and needed a solution to combat the high H2S levels they expected would be released into the air during the tunneling process. Once drilling began, they experienced other noxious odors that needed to be removed from the air, including VOCs, sulfur compounds, and mercaptans.
SOLUTION: PureAir provided the City of Los Angeles with 641 – PP12 modules filled with Sulphasorb XL™ adsorbent media for each of their existing gas-phase system (3,846 PP12 modules total) that have been successful at keeping the odors out of the air.
Carbon based adsorbent media matrix blocks are aligned and encased in the recycled frame and screen to be installed into various filtration systems to provide the superior performance of PureAir’s adsorbent media. The matrix blocks have a monolithic structure and can be made of either PureAir AC-X, Ammoniasorb®, or Sulphasorb 2™. The size and shape of the monolithic structure of the cells leads to turbulent flow and superior performance. The system also has no bypass and a very low pressure drop which amount to total air filtration with efficient energy use.

The Chemisorbant Media Pleated Filter is specifically designed to prevent unpleasant odors and gaseous pollutants from entering the building’s HVAC system. A patented material suspends any PureAir superior quality adsorbent media in a synthetic web matrix. The deep pleat filter design maximizes surface area for important first pass removal efficiency.
